Celebration of Success

We are nominating a number of staff for this years SPIC Care Awards (2014) across all of our services.We are therefore entering quite a number of categories,including the following:

We wish the best of luck to all of our candidates,who are all winners in our eyes.


We ended last year (Nov.2013)on a high note with our own in house awards,held at Bomere Heath Village Hall.Our Celebration of Success was attended by families,friends,residents,tenants,service-users,staff and once again we were honoured by the presence of Shrewsbury Mayor Jon Tandy and the Mayoress Mrs.Diane Tandy,both of whom assisted with the presentation of prizes.

As with last year we were able to report that despite the current economic climate Adelphi continues to develop services.We currently have 130 members of staff and as we expand our services,we continue to create more jobs locally.Last year we opened our purpose built Autism Specific Respite Centre in Wem,namely,Barra House.We are currently building two apartments at Longden Road,Shrewsbury for our Supported Living service.Hopefully these will be ready in the spring(2014).

Because of our expansion we have seen some new senior appointments and promotions.These include:

Staff Awards included:

QCF Level 2 in Health and Social Care;QCF Diploma Level 2 in Health and Social Care;NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care;NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration.

In House we had Support Worker of the Year Jake Allen for Merrington Grange;Sarah Quelch for Roseville House;Shirley Ford for Highbury House/Fernlea;Borja Ruiz for Supported Living and Domiciliary Services.

Best Newcomers:Stuart Walker for Merrington Grange;Scott Challenor for Roseville House........a special award was presented to Mike Pearce for his inspiring role model and for representing the key values of Adelphi Care Services.We had to acknowledge the vital role he has played in changing the life of a particular service user who as  direct result of Mike's interventions,his skills in communication and his belief in making a difference has expanded the world for him.



We were able to celebrate a range of achievements with our service users who were presented wih awards for the following:

Certificate in Printing ASDAN AWARD;Developing Independence skills;Certificate in Cooking;Certificate in Dancing;Managing Change;Healthy Eating;Using Public Transport;Coping with People;Photography;Meal Preparation;Voluntary Work;Agricultural Skills;Money Management;Water skills;Time Management;Everyday Living;Out in the community;Business Enterprise;Apprenticeship in catering;SPIC Certificate in Emergency First Aid;Musical Achievement at The Hive.

We can also congratulate ourselves by retaining our Investors in People Award and our coveted British Safety Council 5 Star Health and Safety Management System Audit Award.

This has in turn permitted us to enter for the prestigious "Sword of Honour"Award,which we were proud to receive for the second year running.We believe we re the only care company to receive this award.It is not only a great accolade-but a reflection of our commitment to the safety of our employees and service users.

Thanks was extended to all of our managers and their staff teams as well as all who man our offices here in Shrewsbury.It is our collective expertise that keeps the wheels turning.So,thank you Kim,Debs,Wendy,Nicola,Priya and Stuart.
